Haskell County Crash Injures Two

A semi truck failed to stop at an intersection causing an injury collision early Friday afternoon at 12:37 pm, about a half mile west of Sublette. The Kansas Highway Patrol reports 34 year old Abdulhalim Omer of Brooks, Alberta, Canada was driving a semi north on highway 83 at the intersection with highway 56 when he failed to stop at the stop sign. A Dodge Caravan driven by 50 year old Hilda S Gonzalez De Macias of Satanta was headed west on 56 when the semi struck the car. Gonzalez De Macias was taken to Satanta District Hospital with suspected serious injuries. A passenger in the minivan, 63 year old Elvia Ochoa of Satanta was taken to Satanta District Hospital with a suspected minor injury. The crash occurred shortly after midnight Friday morning.
