LIBERAL, Kan. – Seward County Community College will be holding a town hall meeting on Thursday, October 17 at 6 p.m. in the “One-Stop Shop” in the Hobble Academic Building.

SCCC President Brad Bennett will share SCCC’s latest enrollment successes as well as giving updates on the various ongoing projects and academic programming.

The release of official numbers from the Kansas Board of Regents provided the following:

• Increased Kansas student enrollment, which grew by 32 percent since 2020.

• Highest student head count growth — 17 percent — in Kansas (including all two-year community colleges and four-year state universities).

• Increased credit hours — 9 percent — reflect more part-time students who access flexible delivery options and staggered start dates.

The public is encouraged to attend and ask questions on SCCC’s vision and strategic plan and how best the college can serve the needs of the community. Light refreshments will be served.

SCCC provides a gateway to career certificates and college for the residents of the High Plains region, starting with high school courses in more than 10 outreach locations, and continuing with in-person, online, full- and part-time courses for degree completion, transfer prep, or even stackable programs with universities so that students can finish a bachelor’s degree without having to relocate.
