USD 480 Board Approves New Rate for SPED Paras

The USD 480 Board of Education met on Monday evening at East Campus, and in New Business the Board voted to renew the ClassLink subscription in the amount of $55,378.86 for 3 years. ClassLink is a Single Sign On service that creates a dashboard where students access all of their apps and services from a single location with 1 login. We are also able to offer QR code cards for our younger students to login with. This also includes “rostering” for all applications.

The Board approved the quote from First Wireless, Inc. in the amount of $17,720.00 for used portable radios to be utilized throughout the district, and approved the Memorandum Of Understanding with Newman University.

Also approved was the new rate for SPED paras identified by the Director of Special Education as being assigned to Life Skills or requiring specialty certifications. This rate would be $18/hour and would cost an additional estimated $17,000.
