Liberal Man Dies in a 3 Vehicle Accident

A Fatality accident occurred early Sunday morning at approximately 1:41 am on US-83 approximately 11 miles south of Turpin, Oklahoma in Beaver County.

A 2013 Hyundai Elantra being driven by Serjio Rutiaga, age 41, of Liberal, and a 2016 Black Kia Optima being driven by Levi E. F. Macias, age 22, of Liberal, were disabled in the roadway from a previous collision. A 2020 3500 driven by Christopher Hickman, 52, of Hemphill, Texas failed to observe and struck both vehicles.

Rutiaga was pronounced dead at the scene by Oklahoma Medical Examiner due to injuries sustained. Macias and Hickman were not injured.
