Moncayo Draws Closer to School Record in Win at Lamar

Suain Moncayo netted four goals and one assists as the Liberal soccer team gained a 5-0 win at Lamar on Thursday night.  Moncayo now has 57 goals in his Redskin career, trailing only Eduardo Moreno’s 58 goals.

It was a bit of a frustrating start the Lamar and Liberal were scoreless at halftime despite the Redskins leading shots on goal 15-1.  Suain Moncayo scored the first goal with an assist from Johnny Young 3:45 into the second half.  Suain scored again with a Jaden Gonzalez assist 12 minutes into the half.  Suain scored his third goal with a Giezi Gonzalez assist 17:30 into the half.  Suain Moncayo scored the fourth goal with an assist from Josh Garcia on a corner kick for a 4-0 lead.  Giovani Barrera scored with a Moncayo assist with two minutes to play.

Liberal is 6-1-1 and hosts Hays Thursday at 6:30 at Redskin Field.
