Hit and Run Accident Sends 2 to the Hospital

On Saturday morning at approximately 10:15 AM, officers of the Liberal Police Department were dispatched to the area of Pancake Blvd and Kansas Ave for a report of a hit & run accident.

Upon arrival, officers spoke with the driver of a white 2015 Buick Enclave, a 71-year-old female, who stated the vehicle she collided with had left the scene.

While officers were speaking to the driver of the white Buick, the second vehicle involved in the accident arrived back on scene. Officers spoke to the driver of a silver 2008 Saturn Astra, a 43-year-old male.

The passenger of the silver Saturn, a 55-year-old female, stated that her chest was hurting and accepted medical assistance from EMS. The driver and the passenger of the silver Saturn were transported to SWMC.

The driver of the silver Saturn was cited for leaving the scene of an accident, driving without a valid license, and for impeding traffic.
