Liberal, Kansas – Bruno Mestres has been one of the highest ranked goalkeepers in the NJCAA over the past few weeks which has added to his list of accolades with him earning each of the first two KJCCC Goalkeeper of the Week honors and on September 10th the Jayhawk announced him as Goalkeeper of the Week for the third straight time.
Over the past week Mestres recorded a total of 20 saves on a .952 save percentage in a pair of ties for Seward County in a 1-1 draw with #3 Cowley and later a 0-0 draw against Garden City. He recorded 10 goals in each contest while allowing only one goal against the Tigers. Mestres now has 35 saves to his name for the 2024 season with an overall save percentage of .946 through five games as the starting goalkeeper.
The Saints will be back in action tomorrow on September 11th to take on Kansas Wesleyan on the road with kickoff scheduled for 6:00 PM.
