Three Run Eighth Lifts Seward

KSCB News - May 21, 2010 12:00 am

A three run eighth inning propelled Seward’s softball team to a 5-2 win over Pitt, North Carolina at the NJCAA Tournament in St. George, Utah. Shelby Casey, Marisa Coats, and Briana Baron put together consecutive hits during the eighth to break a 2-2 tie. Erin Roufosse struck out seven and allowed just five hits in the win. Baron was 3-4 while Brittany Kent and Alicia Reyes had two hits a piece. Seward continued to struggle to put the ball in play. After striking out 16 times in the Seminole State loss, the Lady Saints struck out 15 times against Pitt. Seward is 48-13 and plays Chattanooga State who is 49-12 Friday morning at 11 a.m. on Talkradio 1270 and kscbnews.net.
