Meade High School Suffers Storm Damage

Meade High School was closed Friday after a storm caused significant damage to the building, the district said.

“Due to extensive storm damage, Meade High will not have school tomorrow 8.30.24,” the USD 226. “Meade Elementary will be in session as normal. All activities are still on as planned.”

According to Meade County Emergency Management, the National Weather Service estimates it was a microburst with 80 to 85 mph winds.

No injuries have been reported.
