Linda Lou DeCamp

Linda Lou DeCamp, 75, of Liberal, passed away on Wednesday August 28, 2024 at her home.

She was born on February 25, 1949 to Junior and Naomi (Lutz) Wilson at Las Animas, CO.

On July 20, 1973 she married Daryl DeCamp in Liberal, KS.

Linda had worked for Beech Aircraft until Beech left Liberal in the mid 1980’s. She also worked as a Hairdresser and Babysitter for many years. When her daughters were growing up she was an active supporter of PTA.

Linda was well known for being an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary where she was 2007-2008 Woman of the Year and was recognized for her outstanding service as President in 2019. She was also recognized as an Unsung Hero of Liberal. She worked endlessly to raise funds for the Liberal Cemetery Directory. Linda enjoyed camping at Meade Lake and tending to her flower garden. She loved being surrounded by her family.

Linda is survived by her loving husband of 51 years Daryl; Daughters, DarLynn Beaty and husband Rodney of Liberal, KS, Cheryl Dreitz and husband Ragan of Liberal, KS; Three Granddaughters, Briana Martinez and husband Nick, Kileigh Beaty, Kaitlynn Dreitz; Grandson, Zachary Dreitz; Great Grandson, Zayden Martinez; Great Granddaughter, Zayleigh Grant; Two Sisters, Sally Wilson of Brooksville, FL, Cindy Hardin and husband Curtis of Liberal, KS.

She was preceded in death by her Parents, three Sisters, June Reynolds, Vickey Kimberly, and Judy Emry.

Per Linda’s wishes, Cremation has taken place.

A Family & Friends Gathering to celebrate Linda’s life will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2024 from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm at First Southern Baptist Church in Liberal.
