Johnson KS Man Uninjured in Accident on the Turnpike

An injury accident occurred Tuesday morning at approximately 7:50 am on the Kansas Turnpike in Butler County. A 2019 Ford Escape being driven by Deborah Book, 51 of Augusta KS was in the northbound lane passing a 2021 Volvo Semi being driven by Earl Vanhooser, 63, of Johnson KS, when she hydroplaned into the center barrier wall, then struck the trailer of Vanhooser’s semi, then struck the barrier again.

The Ford was disabled in the road, the semi stopped on the shoulder. Book, and a passenger in her vehicle Tracy Lolley 57, of Wichita were taken to Wesley in Wichita to be treated for minor injuries. Vanhooser was not injured.
