Liberal, Kansas – The 2024 season is right around the corner and Head Coach Aubrey Wilson is happy to announce the newest member of her coaching staff in Assistant Coach Leslie Polanco Delgado who will begin her first season with the Lady Saints this upcoming season.

Originally from the Dominican Republic, Polanco Delgado previously served as a graduate assistant for Northwestern Oklahoma State the past couple of years where she helped with recruiting and player development through her time with the Rangers.

“I am excited to start this new chapter,” said Polanco Delgado. “I am happy to join a program with such a winning history and am looking forward to my first year of helping our student-athletes succeed both on and off the court.”

Before stepping into the coaching ranks, Polanco Delgado suited up in the Jayhawk Conference for Highland where she was the KJCCC DII Player of the Year and a 1st Team All-Region member as a sophomore in 2017 after finishing the year with 563 kills and 634 digs. Following her career at the junior college level, she signed with the University of Arkansas at Monticello where she continued to be a key threat on the court with 347 kills in her final collegiate season in 2019 to go with 93 assists and 379 digs in 27 matches to earn All-GAC honors.

“I am super excited to have Leslie join us” said Head Coach Aubrey Wilson. “From her playing experience to her coaching experience, she will be a great asset to our program. She has many connections to help the success of this program and is also able to connect with our players to help us create great students, athletes, and human beings.”

Polanco Delgado will be joining a Lady Saints program that went 13-17 overall in the 2023 season while going 5-11 in Jayhawk Conference action. Seward County will begin their 2024 season on the road through the month of August beginning with a four-game tournament in Texas at the McCook Invitational where they will face McCook in game one on August 23rd.
