According to the Kansas Department of Transportation, traffic changes are anticipated to start on Monday, Aug. 12, along U.S. 83 from the U.S. 50/83/400 intersection north to the south city limits of Scott City.
U.S. 83 traffic will be reduced to one lane in sections as they work to resurface this 31.55-mile-long project area. Motorists should expect delays of up to 15 minutes as flaggers and a pilot car direct one-lane traffic through the work zone. The lane reduction will be marked by signs and cones. U.S. 83 will be open to normal traffic when construction is not taking place.
Venture Corporation, of Great Bend, is the contractor on this $5.5 million project. Weather permitting, it is expected to be completed by the beginning of November.
