TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) – A southwest Kansas member of the State Board
of Education has been chosen to participate in a national
discussion of rural education issues.
Sally Cauble of Liberal will serve on a task force of the
National Association of State Boards of Education studying rural
and frontier education issues.
The panel will review policy recommendations that will be made
to Congress and the U.S. Department of Education that will address
issues specific to rural schools. The focus will be on helping
improve low-performing schools.
Cauble has served on the Kansas board since 2007. She represents
District 5, which includes approximately the western third of
Kansas.
