Bee Jays Open this Weekend at the NBC

The Liberal Bee Jays will play in the 2024 NBC World Series at Wichita State University.  They play Saturday at 3pm against the Derby Twins, Sunday at 3pm against the San Diego Stars, and Tuesday night at 8:30 against the Boulder Collegians.  The games will air on 1270 and 92.3.

POOL TIE BREAKERS

  1. Win – Loss Record
  2. Head to Head
  3. Total run differential for all games played in pool play, wins and losses.
  4. Fewest runs allowed per inning played defensively.
  5. Total runs scored during pool play.

Top 3 teams in each pool will advance to single-elimination bracket play starting 7/31

Bracket Play- Matchups for Bracket Play will be determined after pool play in completed on July 30th.

 

Here is more on how the tournament works:

Format:

  • The 2024 NBC World Series will consist of a 16-team field
  • July 25-30 will be pool play, with four pools of four teams, and each team playing three games. If your team plays on the 25th, you will play July 25th, 27th and 29th. If your team plays July 26th, you will play the 26th, 28th, & 30th for pool play.
  • The top three teams from each pool advance to the single elimination round starting July 31.
  • The top team in each pool receives a bye for the first game of bracket play.
  • Single elimination will run August 3rd, when the 2024 NBC World Series Champion is crowned.

Team Compensation:

  • 1st – $18,000
  • 2nd – $15,000
  • 3rd – $9,000 – two teams
  • 5th – $4,500– four teams
