Bee Jays Dominate Dodge in Home Finale

The Liberal Bee Jays won their last home game 17-0 in seven innings Saturday night at Brent Gould Field.  Robert Orr was named the Bee Jay Player of the Year before the game.  Liberal finishes 14-4 at home and stays tied for first in the Rocky Mountain with one game to play for both Hays and the Bee Jays.

Liberal scored two in the first, three in the second, eight in the third, and three in the fourth.  Liberal had 12 hits and the A’s mustered three base hits.

Luke Steward pitched all seven innings of the shutout with five strikeouts and two walks.  It’s Liberal’s second shutout win of the season.  Steward is 5-1 this season.  Robert Orr went 3-5 with a triple and four RBI’s.  Miller Durham was 3-5 with a home run and three RBI’s.  Taiga Sakuma went 3-3 with a double.  Ryota Kusumoto was 2-3 with a double.

Dodge City falls to 10-23 overall and 9-17 in the Rocky Mountain.  Liberal is 23-7 overall and 21-6 in the Rocky Mountain.  The same two teams meet Sunday night at 7pm at Cavalier Field in Dodge City with B.J. Dugout Show at 6:45 on 1270 and 92.3.
