Salvador Limon

Salvador Limon was born January 26, 1955, in Satanta, KS, to Ambrosio (AP) & Margarita (Sosa) Limon.

He was a lifelong resident of Satanta, away a short period while at college and working his first job.

He graduated from Satanta High School in May 1973 and attended Oklahoma Panhandle State University on a football scholarship.

Sal worked a short time for the State Road Department until starting at his second, and last job, at Energy Transfer / Panhandle Eastern Pipeline. Sal would have celebrated 50 years at his company on February 25, 2025.

In April 1976, he met the love of his life, Katie Urteaga. They married on September 4, 1976. They lived a short time in Hugoton, KS, and moved to Satanta when Sal was transferred for work. To this union they added two children, Marc and Cassandra.

Sal loved sports, especially watching his grandchildren compete. Nola, in gymnastics; His favorite was her floor routine. He was always so proud of her. Auja, in basketball; He happily spent many hours in basketball gyms. Vador, in soccer; Sal knew nothing about the sport, but learned quickly.

Sal is survived by his wife, Katie (47.5 years of marriage); His children: Marc (Stephine) Limon, Topeka, KS; Cassandra Limon, Wichita, KS; His grandchildren: Nola Limon, Houston, TX; Auja Limon, Wichita, KS; Vador Limon, Topeka, KS; Two brothers Wally Limon, Liberal, KS; Mel Limon, Nickerson, KS; Three sisters, Olga Limon, Baltimore, MD; Odilia Mills, Memphis, TN; Toni Corbett, Port St. Lucie, FL and a host of nieces and nephews.

Proceeded in death by his parents, AP and Margarita Limon and sisters Theresa Limon and Isidra (Cindy) Small.

Sal passed, surrounded by family, on June 18, 2024, Wichita, KS.

Memorial service will be held Saturday, July 13, 2024, at 11:00 am at Sublette Christian Church with graveside service to follow at Dudley Township Cemetery, Satanta, KS.
