Florentino Ramirez Medina, 80, passed away on July 4, 2024, at his residence in Liberal.
He was born on June 17, 1944 in Coalcoman, Michoacan, Mexico. He was the son of Juan Ramirez and Maria Medina.
On June 21, 1976, he married Guadalupe Armida Romero in Chihuahua, Chihuahua, Mexico. She survives.
Florentino worked for many years as a carpenter, most recently in cabinetry and countertops.
He was a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather. His family was very important to him.
He is survived by;
His wife, Guadalupe Armida Romero de Ramirez, of Liberal, Kansas
4 sons; Carlos Ramirez Romero of Juarez, Mexico
Miguel Ramirez Romero and his wife Ivonne Gonzalez of El Paso, Texas
Florentino Ramirez Romero of Juarez, Mexico
Felipe Ramirez and his wife Gina of Odessa, Texas
2 daughters; Diana Martinez of Liberal, Kansas
Alejandra Ramirez and her wife, Jessica Juarez of Liberal, Kansas
1 brother, Juan Manuel Ramirez Medina of New Mexico
3 sisters, Rosa Maria Paz of El Paso, Texas
Ilda Rosario Medina of El Paso, Texas
Luz Elena Medina of Juarez, Mexico
13 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, David Ramirez Medina and Francisco Javier Medina.
Visitation will be on Monday, July 8, 2024 from 1 to 5pm at the Hornung Family Funeral Home, 1212 W 2nd Street, Liberal, Kansas. Rosary will follow at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 1510 N Calhoun Ave. at 7pm.
Funeral Mass will be at 11 am, Tuesday, July 9, 2024 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, with Rev. Charles Siewert celebrating.
A private family interment will take place.
