Liberal, Kansas – After appearing on the mound for the Saints this past season, sophomore ace Tyler Wilcox will head down south to Oklahoma Christian University after signing with the Eagles to continue his athletic and academic career at the four-year level.

Wilcox appeared on the mound in 16 games for Seward County during the 2024 season where he recorded 5 wins and 1 save as the Saints’ pitcher. He pitched in 79.2 total innings and managed to strike out 50 batters at the plate while walking only 24. Wilcox struck out five or more batters in four games with all four resulting in wins for the green and white, including a season high of 6 strikeouts in a 15-7 win on the road against Trinidad State.

“Congratulations to Tyler on signing at Oklahoma Christian University” said Head Coach Mike Davidson. “They are getting a good pitcher and a good guy. We here at Seward County wish him all the best in his future with the Eagles”.

In the 2024 season, Oklahoma Christian went 11-39 overall while going 11-37 in conference action. The Eagles were unable to sweep any of their opponents on the year while their pitching unit struck out over 300 batters throughout the season.

Wilcox’s signing is one of seven for the Saints as he joins Trenton Rowan (Arkansas), Brian Luna Alvarez (Texas Tech), Todd Baffa (Maine), Cameron Cartwright (Colorado Mesa), Trent Gerber (Central Oklahoma), and Elias Herrera (Northwestern Oklahoma State) who will all continue their collegiate careers at the four-year level in the 2025 season.
