In a game which lasted about 1 hour and 40 minutes, the Liberal Bee Jays run ruled the Denver Cougars 11-1 in seven innings Sunday night at Brent Gould Field.  Liberal finishes 5-0 on the home stand and has won seven games in a row.

The Bee Jays scored in the second when Joel Roberts singled and would later score on James Nolan’s RBI single.  The B.J.’s scored five in the third.  Ryota Kusumoto and Tanner Gerosa singled to begin the inning.  Joel Roberts singled home a run.  James Nolan blasted a three run home run just under the scoreboard in left center.  The Bee Jays scored three in the fourth.  Ryota Kusumoto whistled a triple to center.  Tanner Gerosa drove home the run and reached on an error.  Julius Ramirez doubled home a run.  Matt Mendez homered to lead off the fifth for a 10-0 lead.  The Cougars scored a sixth inning run but the Bee Jay insured the run rule with a run in the bottom of the sixth.  Miller Durham singled to lead off the inning.  Tommy Molina singled home a run.

The Bee Jays out-hit the Cougars 12-4.  Denver had four errors and Liberal did not commit an error.

Hunter Phillips was Epic Touch Player of the Game pitching all seven innings allowing four hits.  Ryota Kusumoto was 3-4.  Joel Roberts was 2-3.  James Nolan was 2-4 with four RBI’s.

Denver is 2-15 overall and 1-11 in the Rocky Mountain.  Liberal is 11-2 overall and 10-2 in the RMBL.  The same two teams meet at Metro State in downtown Denver Wednesday at 7:30 central time with Bee Jay Dugout Show at 7:15 on 1270 and 92.3.
