Shirley Mae Denoyer

Shirley Mae Denoyer, 87, of Paxton and formerly of the Clifton area, passed away on Sunday, June 9, 2024 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO.

She was born on January 9, 1937 in Martinton, a daughter of Philip J. and Florence (Ponton) Ponton. She married Harold E. Denoyer on August 14, 1954 in L’Erable and he preceded her in death on January 3, 2003.

She is survived by seven sons, Joseph (Elizabeth) Denoyer of KS, Jeffrey (Monica) Denoyer of Watseka, Robert (Misty) Denoyer of Buckley, Timothy (Keith Smith) Denoyer of Champaign, Russell “RD” (Barb) Denoyer of Watseka, Joshua (Amy) Denoyer of Sheldon and Mike (Lisa) McCary of Topeka, KS; one daughter, Christina (Alec) Anderson of Rantoul; one daughter-in-law, Stephanie Denoyer of Las Vegas, NV; grandchildren, Shawn Denoyer, Drew Denoyer, Sarah Denoyer, Rachell Denoyer, Dakota Denoyer, Tanner Denoyer, Hannah Denoyer, Elijah Denoyer, Nicole Smith, Jesse Denoyer, Amber Medellin, Nicholas Denoyer, Stephanie Blaser, Mckinzie Denoyer, Jeremiah Denoyer, Cheyenne Denoyer, Justin Denoyer, Zeke Denoyer, and Kayleigh McCary; and sixteen great-grandchildren.

Shirley was also preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Clifford Pete Ponton and Russell Ponton; two sisters, Velma LaMontagne amd Dorothy Rasmussen; one son, Tony Denoyer; and two grandchildren, Shane Denoyer and Dalton Denoyer.

She enjoyed shopping with her daughter and loved her family.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:30 a.m., Monday, June 17, 2024 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in L’Erable with Fr. Doug Hauber officiating. Burial will follow the funeral at the St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery in L’Erable.

Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 17, 2024 at Knapp Funeral Home in Clifton.
