Darby Shay Frydendall

MEADE – Darby Shay Frydendall, age 55, passed away Sunday evening, June 9, 2024, at his Meade, Kansas, residence.

He was born May 18, 1969, at Scott City, Kansas, the son of Jackie Lee and Randea Kah (Leslie) Frydendall. As a young boy, he moved with his family to Meade, Kansas, in 1972, attending the Meade School system. While in high school, the family moved to Liberal where he graduated from Liberal High School in 1987. Upon his graduation, he returned to Meade. A longtime resident, he worked for the cable company for many years installing cable television. He later began working in pest control for Schendel Pest Control servicing customers in southwest Kansas for many years.

He enjoyed working in his backyard shop, attending concerts, and visiting with his family and many friends.

He married Janna Stapleton on September 19, 1992. After several years of marriage, the couple later divorced. On Jun 10, 2012, he married Sandra Kay Peters at Las Vegas, Nevada. She survives.

Other survivors include his son, Blake Frydendall of Meade, Kansas; three stepsons, Andy Musgrove and wife Mackenzie, Bradly Musgrove, and Joey Musgrove and wife Lilly; a brother, Tab Frydendall and wife DeeAnn of Forgan, Oklahoma; three sisters, Staci Venegas and husband Greg of Greeley, Colorado, Chanelle Frydendall of Liberal, Kansas, and Katrina Lauppe and husband Rob of Greeley, Colorado; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

A celebration of Darby’s life will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 6, 2024, at the Emmanuel Mennonite Church with interment will follow the service in the Graceland Cemetery, both of Meade. In accordance to his request, cremation has taken place.

Darby had requested that those who choose to leave a memorial, he would like for them to be given to the Blake Frydendall Education Fund in care of Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary.
