Rattlers Runner Up in Top of the Mound in Liberal

The Liberal Rattlers finished as the runner up in their home tournament
this weekend. The Rattlers went 4-1 in their home Top of the Mound tournament.
The Denver Diablos beat the Rattlers 8-2 Sunday evening at the National Beef Sports
Complex.
On Saturday afternoon, the Rattlers beat Elkhart 18-1. They played game
two Saturday on the “JV field” against the Venom. Aiden Miramontes slammed
a walk off two run home run for a 5-4 win. Marco Alonso also hit a home run.
Sunday morning, the Rattlers blew out Spearman 13-0. Behind the pitching of
Cade Thomas, the Rattlers won their semifinal game 13-2 over Dalhart before the
championship game loss. The Rattlers are 5-3-1.

The 14U Rattlers win their second straight tournament. They topped the
Rattler 13U team for the Top of the Mound title. The 14U Rattlers won
a tournament at Goddard the week before. They play in Omaha beginning
Wednesday and running through Sunday.
