Juvenile Dies in Texas County Crash

A fatality accident occurred Sunday evening at approximately 10:01pm on County Road D and approximately ¼ mile east of Mile 33, approximately 12 miles north of Guymon, Oklahoma, in Texas County.

A 1998 Dodge Ram driven by a 16 year old Juvenile male, of Hooker, OK, was traveling westbound when the driver came upon a pothole in the road. It appeared he tried to dodge the pothole, and swerved to the right and then overcorrected. The pick up began sliding to the left as it was leaving the roadway, hit a ditch, went airborne, then rolled approximately 2 ½ times. The driver was ejected approximately 10 yards from the vehicle.

He was pronounced dead on scene by medical personnel.
