Seward County Men’s Tennis has made the trip down to Texas for the NJCAA National Tournament and day one could not have gone better as every member of the Saints team advanced to the second round in both singles and doubles competition for an 8-0 start to tie them for third place with 16 points after round one.
Samuel Antwi led the way in singles competition as he took down his opponent from Lewis & Clark in straight sets 6-0 and 6-1 to get SCCC started strong. Sebastian De Las Salas continued the success for Seward County with straight sets win 6-1 and 6-3 over his opponent from Collin College and the trend continued with Ognjen Gajic taking down his opponent 6-2 and 6-1 while Antoine Adamiak won with ease 6-0 and 6-1. David Roseler completed a perfect day in singles competition for the Saints with a win over Meridian CC 6-1 and 6-0 to end the day with every player for SCCC winning in straight sets.
Doubles competition was no different with the pairing of Antwi and Cem Atlamis taking down their foes from Marion Military Institute 6-3 and 6-0 while the duo of Adamiak and Roseler grabbing a close one 6-3 and 7-5 over Coastal Alabama. The final pairing of De Las Salas and Gajic grabbed the final win of the day for Seward County 6-1 and 6-2 for every match on the day ending in straight sets for an 8-0 result on day one.
