Just like the Liberal boys this fall, the Liberal Lady Red soccer team defeated the visiting Dodge City Red Demons on Senior Night. Thursday night at Redskin Field, Liberal defeated Dodge 2-1 in double overtime.
It was scoreless at the half. Nicole Catalan bombed a free kick from 30 yards out into the upper right corner of the south goal for the 1-0 lead. At the 13:16 mark, Dodge City tied the game on a penalty kick. The game went to double overtime and Nicole Catalan sent Redskin Field into a frenzy with a goal from 25 yards out on the left side of the field.
Dodge City is 11-4-1 and 6-1-1 in the WAC for a conference title. Liberal is 8-6-2 and finishes 3-4-1 in the WAC.
