Liberal Sends Both Doubles Teams to State

The Liberal tennis team qualifies both of their tennis teams to state for a second straight season.  The Redskins competed at a 6A regional tennis tournament at Riverside Tennis Complex in Wichita.  The event was hosted by Wichita East.  The teams of Parker Brown and Daniel Nguyen and Emmanuel Garcia with Jovanni Garcia both make state.
Parker Brown and Daniel Nguyen opened by beating Wichita South 6-0 6-0.  They beat Dodge City 6-2, 7-5.  They lost to Derby 6-4, 6-4. They played for third against Dodge City and lost 9-11, 6-4, 5-7.
Emmanuel Garcia and Jovanni Garcia opened with an exciting win over Wichita East Friday morning 6-3,7-6(3). They lost to Derby 6-1, 6-2. They bounced back and beat Dodge City 6-4,6-4.  They dropped the fifth place match to Wichita Southeast 7-6, 4-6, 2-6.

State is at Riverside Friday and Saturday.
