LHS Sweeps Bucklin to Begin Season

On a sunny and breezy day with temperatures in the 50’s, Liberal’s softball team swept the Bucklin Red Aces 11-1 and 14-6.  Game one went five innings due to run rule.  This was the debut for head coach Bre Kelley.

In game one, Zoey Torres worked all five innings with nine strikeouts, one walk, and two hits.  Taylor Harding was 3-3 while Marypher Lopez had two hits.

In game two, Taylor Harding pitched four innings with five strikeouts and three hits.  Torres went three innings with four K’s and three hits.  Zoey Torres and Taylor Harding had three hits a piece.  Madalyn McCarter, Lexi Miller, and Marypher Lopez had two hits a piece.

LHS plays Hesston and Kingman at Kingman on Saturday.
