Redskins Can’t Soar Past Wichita Heights

The top seed Wichita Heights Falcons ended Liberal’s basketball season on Wednesday night in Wichita. Heights beat the Redskins 70-28. The Falcons have played in the past two 6A state championship games.
Liberal trailed 10-7 before the Falcons soared to a 10-0 run to lead 20-7 after one quarter. It was 44-20 Heights at the half. Wichita Heights led 64-28 after three. A running clock was used in the fourth quarter.
Zayden Martinez was Epic Touch Player of the Game with 16 points.
Heights is 20-1 and Liberal finishes 5-16. It’s Liberal’s eighth straight playoff loss and seventh straight season with a losing record.
