SCCC Quiz Bowl Goes to Nationals

The Seward County Community College Collegiate Quiz Bowl Team qualified for the National Collegiate NAQT Tournament this past weekend in Chicago. The team is in its third year, and has qualified for national berths all three years. They finished 23rd overall, and David Beesley, Hugoton freshman, finished 36th individually out of 125+ competitors. Other team members are team captain Aidan Rice, Liberal sophomore; Ainsley Horinek, Sublette freshman; Dalton Cruz, Hugoton freshman; and Laura Gillespie, Hugoton sophomore. The team is coached by Charity Horinek, Executive Director of Grant Development.

The Saints team was able to visit several educational sites, including the Field Museum, Art Institute of Chicago, Shedd Aquarium, Willis Tower, and the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum.
