Liberal, Kansas – It’s only one week into the 2024 season for Seward County baseball and the Saints are already grabbing recognition as sophomore Trenton Rowan was named the KJCCC West Player of the Week as announced by the Jayhawk Conference yesterday afternoon.
Rowan started his second year with the Saints strong as he stepped up to the plate for Seward County to lead them to a 4-0 start on the season while scoring 5 runs, driving in 8, and hitting 4-12 overall through four games. In game three of the series against Redlands Rowan was responsible for all 7 of SCCC’s runs as he hit two home run bombs to drive in every score the Saints had in a 7-1 win against the Cougars.
Seward County has started their season with the best possible result with a 4-0 start in a series sweep against the Redlands Cougars this past weekend. They will now shift gears towards their next foe in Kirkwood as the Saints take the field at home for the first time this season on Friday with game one of the four game series starting at 3:00 PM and game two at 5:00 PM.
