Liberal, Kansas – Seward County pitcher Trent Gerber has officially made his decision to continue his baseball and academic career following the 2024 season with the Saints, signing with the Bronchos of the University of Central Oklahoma for 2025 on National Signing Day.

Gerber pitched in 14 games with 6 starts on the mound for the Green and Silver, going 3-2 as a freshman for Seward County. He pitched in a total of 47 innings, recording 25 strikeouts for a k/9 average of 4.79. The freshman pitcher struck out a career high of five batters in two different games, striking five out in game one against Kirkwood and five more in the final game against Redlands.

Last year the Bronchos went 32-19 overall in the 2023 season with a conference record of 18-15 in the MIAA where they were unable to take down Pittsburg State in a Best-of-Three Series, falling 2-1 to end their postseason run.

Gerber is one of three Seward County pitchers to sign to the four-year level on National Signing Day with the other two being Brian Luna Alvarez (Texas Tech) and Elias Herrera (Northwestern Oklahoma State).

The Saints kick off their 2024 season on the road against Redlands with the first two games of the four-game series taking place on February 2nd at 1:00 and 3:00 PM.
