An injury accident occurred Saturday evening at approximately 8:46 am in Seward County at the US 54 and K RD intersection.
A Seward County Deputy attempted to make a traffic stop for damaged windshield. The Driver, Yosimar Alarcon, 29, of Dodge City fled Westbound on Highway 54 almost striking a Liberal Police officer on the Eastbound shoulder. The 2009 Chevy Silverado pickup went into the East ditch to avoid the Liberal PD vehicle. Liberal Police threw stop sticks confirming a good stick. Alarcon then attempted to get back on to US 54 Westbound but entered a side skid crossing the highway to the West ditch. Alarcon entered the West ditch still in a side skid where the vehicle caught and rolled an unknown number of times before coming to rest upright facing Southeast.
Alarcon was taken to Southwest Medical Center with suspected serious injuries.
