The Liberal City Commission met for the final regular meeting of 2023 with several end of the year housekeeping items before them. Up first was the budget.
The Commission amended the 2023 Fiscal Year Budget that was adopted on September 13, 2022.
Commissioners then adopted Ordinance No. 4610, amending the 2023 Fiscal Year
Budget for the City of Liberal for the Employee Benefits Fund, the Bond & Interest Fund, the Convention &
Tourism Fund, the Special Highway Fund, the Communications Fund, the Special Alcohol Treatment Fund,
the Economic Incentives Fund, the City ½% Educational Sales Tax Fund, the City 1% Sales Tax Fund, the
Airport Utility Fund, and the Wastewater Utility Fund.
Also the City Commissioners approved the Fiscal Year 2023 fund transfers, as presented, and gave approval to reclassify accounts receivable and utility account delinquencies that are over 120 days past due, as these are not bookable, quality assets. The City last reclassified delinquent
accounts as of December 27, 2022.
The City Commission will meet again in January.
