On Tuesday, November 28th the Liberal City Commission met for their regularly scheduled meeting
Commissioners continued the public hearing for Resolution No. 2400 calling for the demolition of a sub-standard structure in the 800 block of North Pennsylvania Ave. Following discussion about the owner’s progress on the property, the Commission gave consensus to continue the public hearing for Resolution No. 2400 to March 2024.
The Commission voted to approve the vacation of the Millennium Addition Plat to the City of Liberal due to a change in the land development plans for the property. The Millennium plat is located on more than 14 acres of land along E. Tucker Road, N. Calvert Avenue, and U.S. Highway 83 in North Liberal.
Commissioners voted to approve Ordinance No. 4607 to allow special use of a church property located at 554 E. Pancake Ave. to be used for a one room daycare center.
The Commission moved to approve Ordinance No. 4608 to adopt the 2023 Standard Traffic Ordinance, as well as Ordinance No. 4609 to adopt the 2023 Uniform Public Offense Code.
The next regularly scheduled Liberal City Commission meeting will take place December 12th at 5:30 p.m.
