After a week in which he put up eye popping numbers in
the middle of the Seward County lineup, sophomore 1st baseman Josh
Dawson has been named the KJCCC Player of the Week. The left handed
swinging Dawson continued his hot hitting for Seward this week hitting
at a .480 clip in a 3-3 week for the Saints. Dawson had a career game
in a 17-14 loss on Monday as the he went 3 for 3 with 2 doubles, a
triple, and a career high 6 RBI’s. He backed that up by going 4 for 5
with a pair of doubles in game two of the double header as he reached
base all 11 times he would step to the plate on the day. On Saturday he
had another pair of doubles for the Saints in game two of their series
with Hutchinson and on Sunday’s game four he notched a triple and a home
run with 4 RBI’s in a Saints win. Dawson and the Saints are scheduled
for a shootout with Clarendon on Wednesday before returning back to
conference play with a 4 game home series with Pratt this weekend.
