Last night the 7th grade Lady Warriors took on Horace Good lady hawks in the first basketball game of the year. It was a back and forth battle all four quarters. The Lady warriors held the lead at halftime by a score of 9-4. The LadyHawks fought back and tied the game up 17-17 with 40 seconds left in the game. Aubrey Rivera got fouled on the shot and made a free throw to put the Lady Warriors up for good. The Lady Warriors won by a score of 18-17. Leading scorers were Yarah Martinez with 8 points and pulling down 10 rebounds, and Aubrey Rivera scored 5 points.

Last night 8th Lady Warriors faced Horace Good. B team stared off the night with a dominating defense, defeating Horace Good 43-14. Leading the team with 18 steals and 12 points was Valeria Gandara Vega, Jeslynn Heredia 9 pts, Yuridia Gonzales 8pts, Jyzelle Juarez 6pts, MarryAna Peregrino 4pts, & Savannah Olvera & Rebecca McLane 2 pts each. Next up was the A team. A team struggled right out of the gate with first game jitters & were shaken by an aggressive defense by Horace Good. In the Second half the Lady Warriors started to fight back and came within 3 pts but just couldn’t get it done. A team lost 23-33. Leading the A team in scoring was Maliyah Mullens 10 pts, Devaney Carter 6 pts, Haiden Lyon 4 pts and Miah Janko 3 pts
