Number nine Seward took two at Garden City Thursday 9-2 in nine innings and 12-3 in five innings. Seward took advantage of big innings in both wins. In game one, Marisa Coats hit a homer to tie the game at two in the sixth. The game went extra innings until Seward broke the game open with seven runs in the ninth inning. Erin Roufosse struck out a career high 14 and didn’t allow an earned run. In game two, Shelby Casey and Alicia Reyes had three hits a piece. Brittany Kent added a three run homer. The Lady Saints remain in first place at 6-2 in the Jayhawk West and are 32-7 overall. Seward hosts Luna Saturday at 2 PM.
