Hays Holds Down Liberal

It just wasn’t Liberal’s night.  The Redskin soccer team fell 2-1 to the visiting Hays Indians Thursday night at Redskin Field.  On a night when Liberal had a goal waved off due to an off-sides call and also did not score on a penalty kick, the Skins fell behind 2-0 and lost 2-1.  Hays led 1-0 at halftime.  Suain Moncayo scored Liberal’s goal on a penalty kick after a Hays handball in the box.  The loss drops Liberal into a three way tie for second, third, and fourth in the WAC.   Hays is 6-5-1 and 3-3-1 in the WAC.  Liberal is 6-3-3 overall and 2-2-3 in the WAC.  Liberal next plays Blue Valley Southwest October 13 and Shawnee Mission South October 14 in Dodge City.
