For the third time in four games, the Liberal Redskins tied a soccer game. Tuesday night at the Gary Cornelsen Sports Complex, both teams scored in the first half but neither team made a tally in the second half, overtime, or double overtime. Garden City struck first with a goal into the north net. Liberal’s Suain Moncayo scored on a direct kick with 21:02 remaining in the first half. The Redskin hopes were high when the Buffaloes were assessed a red card with about 26 minutes remaining. Despite multiple opportunities, Liberal was unable to find the back of the net in the final 46 minutes of regulation and the two overtimes. Garden City had less offensive scoring chances as they were down a player due to the red card. Garden City is 8-2-2 and 2-2-1 in the WAC. Liberal is 6-2-3 and 2-1-2 in the WAC. Liberal hosts 5-4-1 Hays Thursday night at about 6:30.
