For the second time this season, Seward County
sophomores Erin Roufosse and Brittany Kent have been named the KJCCC
Players of the Week. Roufosse was simply dominant this week in two
starts against Jayhawk competition as first she twirled a 3 hit shutout
in a huge 4-0 win over 20th ranked Butler on Tuesday and backed that up
with an even better performance with a 1 hit shutout against Dodge City
where she struck out 11 without walking a batter. She finished the week
with a spotless 0.00 ERA and 16 strikeouts compared to just 2 walks.
Kent earns the award for the second straight week as she continued to
swing a hot bat hitting .636 with 5 RBI’s in four Seward County wins.
She recorded 7 hits in four games including a double and two triples and
finished the week with a 1.091 slugging percentage. The pair will head
up Highway 83 Thursday to take on the rival Garden City Lady ‘Busters in a
big Jayhawk West Conference double header starting at 3:00.
