The Eisenhower cross country teams traveled to Garden City yesterday to compete in the Garden City Middle School Invitational. All four teams had a strong showing at the race. 7th & 8th grade boys both placed 3rd, the 7th grade girls placed 2nd missing getting first place by one point, and the 8th grade girls brought home first place as a team. Top runners were Sophia Mercado, and Eric Baeza placing in the 1 mile, and Julianna Hernandez, and Ashley Batista placing in the 2 mile race. The warriors travel next Tuesday to race in Dodge City.

Monday night 8th grade Lady Warriors faced Hays and Great Bend at Hays. Starting off the evening was A team against Hays. The Lady Warriors struggled finding their rhythm and fell to the Lady Falcons 11-25 and 18-25. They then faced Great Bend and struggled with passing and fell to the Lady Panthers 21-25 and 15-25. B team started out facing Hays as well and struggled falling to the Lady Falcons 5-25 and 14-25. In their next match up against the Great Bend Lady Panthers, the Lady Warriors were ready t play! They defeated Great Bend in the first match 25-21, the Lady Panthers came back and defeated the Lady Warriors 16-25, and in the third match the Lady Warriors battled it out to pull out the win 16-14.
