Bayouth’s Blast Lifts Liberal

Liberal and Goodland split a double header Monday in Goodland with game one going to Liberael 5-4 and Goodland taking game two 8-6. Liberal took game one after trailing 4-2 with two outs in the seventh. But LHS loaded the bases before Emily Bayouth launched a towering double to left to drive home three runs and give the Redskins the 5-4 lead. Emily Jackson pitched the distance and struck out 10 while allowing just four hits. The Cowgirls won game two 8-6. Jackson was 3-4 and Bayouth was 2-4. Liberal is 2-2. Liberal opens their home season Friday against Larned.
