The Seward County Board of County Commissioners met last night for their regularly scheduled meeting at 6:30pm in the new Administration Building. Among the items on the agenda, county commissioners were introduced to new county employees. Seward County Commissioners also approved the application for the 2009 Emergency Shelter Grant. Two proclamations were also introduced at the meeting, the first one was ” Through With Chew Week”, and “Severe Weather Awareness Week”. The commission also approved the waiver of fees for the Seward County Activity Center for the Cinco De Mayo celebration, after a request was made by Dora Ponce of the Cinco De Mayo committee. In other action, county commissioners appointed Martha Brown to a 2 year term on the Cimarron Community Corrections Board, and approved a purchase request from Mike Tabor of the Seward County Landfill, for fencing for the landfill. Superior Fencing will be providing the fencing at a cost of $59,166.95 to the landfill. The next meeting of the Seward County Commission is set for Monday, March the 16th.
