Danny L. Arthur, age 61, passed away Tuesday morning, August 8, 2023, at his Plains, Kansas, residence.

He was born December 11, 1961, at Dallas, Texas, the son of James William and Alice Marcel (Drain) Arthur. As a young boy he attended several schools in Texas, graduating from Perryton High School in 1980. He later attended vocational school. After his schooling, he worked in the oilfield, was a truck driver, later working for Mitsubishi Power Systems and General Electric, then in 2016, moving to Plains where he and his wife owned and operated J & D Donuts and Deli.

He enjoyed playing cards, dominos, dancing, golfing and spending time with his family and friends.

On March 29, 1986, he married Janetta Carlson at Perryton, Texas. She survives.

Other survivors include his children, Aaron Smith and wife Shannon of Ft. Liberty, North Carolina, Amber Brown of Dumas, Texas, Angela Smith of Plains, Kansas, Missy Chairez and husband Victor of Dumas, Texas, and Crystal Arthur, Tyler, Texas; two brothers, James Arthur of Lubbock, Texas, and Dick Morris of Waxahachie, Texas; a sister, Allison Blue of Texas; seventeen grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Elzie Farrah and Shirley Shearer.

A celebration of Danny’s life will be held at a later date as cremation has taken place.

The family would welcome memorials to the American Cancer Society in care of Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary, Meade, Kansas.
