Sharon Kay Glenn

Sharon Kay Glenn, age 62, passed away early Thursday morning, July 13, 2023, at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita, Kansas.

She was born August 3, 1960, at Minneola, Kansas, the daughter of William J. (Bill) and Rita J. (Hayden) Bergkamp. As a young girl, she attended school in Ensign, Kansas, graduating from Ensign High School in 1979. She later attended Dodge City Community College receiving her training in cosmetology. A longtime resident of Garden City, she was a cosmetologist.

She was a member of St. Dominic’s Catholic Church. She enjoyed catching fish, reading Stephen King novels, saltwater aquariums, golfing, raising cats, playing bingo, and spending time with her family and friends.

On August 30, 1985, she married Randall Glenn at Garden City, Kansas. He survives.

Other survivors include a son, Drew Glenn and wife Sara of Fowler; a daughter, Cassandra Gonzales and husband Jacob of Garden City; a stepdaughter, Jennifer Glenn and husband Jason of Tulsa, Oklahoma; her mother, Rita Bergkamp of Fowler; two brothers, Donald Bergkamp of Fowler, and Joseph Bergkamp and wife Jennifer of Fowler; two sisters, Loretta Robbins and husband Wylie of Eustis, Nebraska, and Barbara Turley and husband Bill of Adams, Wisconsin; and two grandchildren, Grady Gonzales and Easton Glenn.

She is preceded in death by her father and a brother Edward Bergkamp.

Vigil services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Sunday, July 16, 2023, and Holy Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 17, 2023, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Fowler.

In lieu of flowers the family would welcome memorials to St. Anthony’s Catholic Church Building Fund in care of Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary, Meade, Kansas.
