Preston LeRoy “Lee” Redger

Preston LeRoy “Lee” Redger, age 71, died Saturday, May 13, 2023, at his residence in Liberal, Kansas.

He was born on February 23, 1952, in Abilene, Kansas to Kenneth and Thelma Redger.

Lee graduated high school. On March 5, 1982, he was united in marriage to his sweetheart, Marie Elizabeth Parish in Liberal, Kansas. He was a member of the United States Army and served five years, including eight months in Phu Loi, Vietnam. After returning he served in the Military Police in Colorado Springs, Colorado. After his discharge, he returned to Kansas and worked for an Irrigation company and then went to work in the oilfield for 13 years, 10 of which he worked for The Rosel Company. He then had an American Family Insurance Agency for 5 years. Then he found his calling in Crop Insurance for 26 years.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

He enjoyed Living History, hunting with a long bow and black powder. He also enjoyed working on guns, shooting and reloading. In addition, he loved his Harley Davidson motorcycle and loved going on rides with his friends.

He was loved and known for his cowboy hat, jeans and boots. He enjoyed giving people a hard time all in good fun and made many friends that way and he will be missed.

He is survived by;
His Wife, Marie Redger of Liberal, Kansas.
Daughter Billie Jo Dumler and her spouse Mike of Tyrone, Oklahoma, Daughter Christi Presgrove, and Son Travis Redger.
Brother James Redger and his wife Jane of Topeka, Kansas, Sister Patricia Miller and her husband Wendell of Smithville, Missouri.
2 Grandchildren; Trey Dumler and his wife Monica of Amarillo, Texas, and Tori Dumler of Tyrone, Oklahoma.
Great Granddaughter, Ariana Dumler.
Nieces; Madison Love and spouse Addison of Cedar City, Utah, and Hannah Redger of Topeka, Kansas
Nephews; Joseph Miller of Wichita, Kansas, John Miller and his wife Alaina of St. Joseph, Missouri, Josh Miller and his wife Kaisha of Nebraska City, Nebraska, and Jacob Miller who is stationed in Florida.

He is preceded in death by His parents, Kenneth and Thelma Redger and brother, Billy Ray Ingrum.

Visitation will be 2:00 PM – 7:00 PM on Thursday, May 18, 2023, at the Hornung Family Funeral Home Chapel, 1212 W 2nd Street, Liberal, Kansas, and 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM at the Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Church, 2180 Violet Lane, Liberal, Kansas.

Funeral Service will be at 2:00 PM, Friday, May 19, 2023, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 2180 Violet Lane, Liberal, Kansas. Reverend Bob Hutton will be presiding.

A burial will follow at Liberal Cemetery.
