Johnny served in the United States Army, being stationed in Korea, worked on many oil rigs, Jayhawk Pipeline and retired from Seward County Road and Bridge as a road grader engineer after twenty-two years.

At retirement, he spent his time/years on the land he grew up on and will be his final resting place. Johnny referred to this as his play pen, where he gathered his most cherished items so he could continually assist his community.

Everyone who met him was a friend indeed and he didn’t forget them. He helped many in need after he retired and never left anyone stranded or feeling alone. He WAS a friend to all.
