Saints Continue their Winning Ways on the Road

The Seward County Saints are playing well on the road late in the season.  The Saints have won seven straight on the road and 12 of the last 13 as Seward swept Pratt 5-2 and 13-6 at Pratt on Thursday.

In game one, Brian Luna improved to 9-2 pitching six innings striking out 12 on the way to the win.  The Saints scored one in the first as Cameron Cartwright doubled to left to begin the game.  Ranse Radtke singled and Jaxson Gregg blooped an RBI single to right.  Ranse Radtke singled in the third.  After two walks, Todd Baffa lined a sac fly to left for the 2-0 lead.  The Beavers scored in the fourth to make it 2-1.  The Saints added three insurance runs in the seventh.  Cameron Cartwright doubled with one out.  Ranse Radtke doubled home a run.  Elijah Bear blasted his Jayhawk West leading 17 home run to center for the 5-1 lead.  Pratt scored one in the seventh.  Seward out hit Pratt 10-6 and neither team committed an error.

The Saints scored three in the second to begin game two.  Cameron Cartwright blasted a home run to left center for his 16th of the season.  Pratt scored one in the third.  SCCC scored in the fifth to lead 4-1.  Jordan Crowder lined a hit through the right side.  Pratt struck for four in the fifth to lead 5-4 after five.  Seward tied it in the sixth.  Connor Cox singled to lead off the inning.  Ranse Radtke singled.  Cox scored on a wild pitch for the 5-5 tie.  The Saints broke the game open with a five run seventh at Stanion Field.   The Saints dialed up some small ball.  Keagon Pitton led off the inning with a bunt single.  Trenton Rowan singled.  Connor Cox singled home a run.  Cameron Cartwright laid down a bunt single.  Ranse Radtke singled home two.  Elijah Bear singled home a run for the 10-5 lead.  Pratt loaded the bases with no outs but Trent Gerber wiggled out of the jam allowing just one run to make it 10-6.  Jordan Crowder singled to lead off the 8th.  Trenton Rowan hit his ninth home run of the season.  Connor Cox scored on a wild pitch.  Seward out-hit Pratt 16-7.  Pratt committed two errors and SCCC had one.  Aidan Moore pitched six innings.  Trent Gerber pitched three innings allowing one run.  Cameron Cartwright was 4-6 with a home run.  Connor Cox was 3-4.

The Pratt Beavers are 21-28 overall and 9-17 in the KJCCC West.  The Saints are 31-22 overall and 20-10 in the Jayhawk West.  Seward hosts Pratt Saturday at 1pm with Saints Dugout Show at 12:45 on 1270 and 92.3.
