Seward County Commission Approves Landfill Internet Service

Joe Denoyer - April 14, 2023 10:18 pm

The Seward County Commission met Friday evening as they will be out of town on Monday. At the meeting, Seward County Commissioners established a plan of action and provided guidance on how to proceed with Courthouse maintenance and needs.

Earlier in the year, the Commissioners assigned April Warden, County Administrator, to work with Department Heads to form the Safety Committee with volunteers from the respective departments. At Friday’s meeting the Commissioners agreed to have Shawn Elliff, Senior Regional Specialist, Risk Control, with Travelers Insurance have a Kick-Off Meeting on May 11, 2023, at 8:30 a.m. in the Commission Chambers with the Safety Committee Members. Shawn will be able to assist them with guides and roles of Safety Committees; which has worked well with other Safety Committees he has helped start and maintain.

Commissioners also approved the Workforce Management Platform, NeoGov in the amount of $45,630.00 to come from Reserve for Claims, Special Projects for the year 2023 upon approval of Legal Counsel’s review of the Ordering Form/Agreement and authorized April Warden, County Administrator to sign the Agreement.

Neal Coffey asked the Commissioners to provide him guidance after receiving the maintenance plan summary, as to how they would like for him to proceed forward with a plan.

Nathan Foreman provided the Commissioners with an update from the Team Meeting with Union Pacific, Benesch, Kirkham Michael, and Seward County and gave them a plan for moving forward with the Massoni Bridge Project.

The Commission approved The bid for the server (hardware for this project). The cost came in higher for the server now that the County is ready to implement this project. The cost difference is just below $2,000.00.

The Commission approved AT&T, Idetek for Internet Service at the Landfill
